Minister participates in Warsaw peace, security conference

Warsaw, Feb. 14 (BNA): Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa participated in the opening session of the International Conference in Support of Security and Peace in the Middle East, which was held in Warsaw, in the presence of Poland's President Andrzej Duda,and the US Vice President Mike Pence. The minister thanked President Andrzej Duda for hosting the Conference in the Republic of Poland, praising the great efforts and initiatives of the United States to establish regional and international peace and security and its role in convening this important conference, which serves security and stability in the Middle East as one of the most important pillars of security in the world In his speech on threats to peace and security in the Middle East, the minister stressed that Iran poses a great multi-dimensional threat to the security of the region and the world. He added that Iran adopts a policy of intervening in the internal affairs of other countries, provides various forms of support for violence, extremism and terrorism, and fuels strife in the region all of which requires more international collective action to address this threat in order to contribute to the establishment of security and peace in the Middle East. The minister also reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain's constant commitment to work and cooperate with its allies in the region and beyond in order to enhance the security, peace and development of the region and to benefit its countries and peoples.
