The Minister of Planning Discusses With the British Ambassador The Joint Development In Various Fields

Baghdad / NINA / - Minister of Planning Khaled Batal Al-Najm discussed with the British Ambassador to Iraq Mark Bryson-Richardson the development of joint cooperation in various fields. The ministry's media office said in a statement that "the Minister of Planning, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, met the British Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson-Richardson, and his accompanying delegation." During the meeting, which was attended by the Director-General of International Cooperation, Saher Abdel-Kadhim, they discussed the development of areas of ancient cooperation between the two friendly countries at various levels, economic, trade, investment and development. It added that "the two parties discussed during the meeting a number of issues related to the economic and investment aspects, including the procedures for implementing a number of water and sewage projects in the governorates of Basra, Anbar and Babylon financed by the British loan. The two sides also discussed joint cooperation in dealing with the displacement file, providing the requirements for the voluntary return of all displaced people to their areas, as well as cooperation in relation to family planning. Al-Najm stressed "the importance of developing relations between Iraq and Britain in light of global changes related to food and energy," noting "the ministry's endeavor to restore the scholarship system for Iraqi students to study in reputable international universities, including British universities." He called "the British side to facilitate the procedures for granting entry visas to the United Kingdom." For his part, Richardson affirmed, according to the statement, "his country's readiness to provide more support to the Iraqi side in various fields," stressing that "Iraq is of great interest from the United Kingdom." / End
