Minister visits French Audio-visual Media Institute

Paris, Apr. 30 (BNA): Minister of Information Affairs Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi confirmed the ministry’s keenness to proceed in its projects and plans to develop the media and communication sector and boost its efficiency at the local and regional levels.
The suitable environment will be provided for Bahraini cadres working in the ministry to develop media innovation and creativity commensurate with the reforms approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, said the minister.
The minister’s remarks came as he visited the Audio-visual Media Institute in the French capital Paris, within the frame of His Majesty the King’s visit to the French Republic.
The minister met with the institute’s officials who briefed him about the institute’s history and the key areas of its progress in the audio-visual field. He also viewed latest advanced technologies in this field as well as theoretical and practical programmes offered by the institute to partners and trainees from around the world.
The minister praised the fruitful cooperation between the Information Ministry and the French Audio-visual Media Institute that culminated in the launch of a joint training programme benefitting more than 30 Bahraini sent to France to receive one-month intensive training on the compilation of news reports, acoustics and lighting techniques, interviews and narrative, etc.
The minister expressed aspiration for furthering the cooperation with the institute to boost the capabilities of national cadres in the various media careers.
The minister explored aspects of the cooperation between the ministry and the institute and opening the vistas of partnership in the light of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) soon to be signed between both sides on the side-lines of the visit of His Majesty to the friendly republic.
The MoU will focus on areas of assessment of audio-visual archives kept in the ministry to preserve them.
The two sides will build up the administrative and executive teams capabilities in the various stages of media production. The minister lauded the French Audio-visual Media Institute’s outstanding expertise and highly efficient programmes which will be a considerable addition to achieve the ministry’s objectives.
