Ministerial panel discussion to be held during e-Government Forum

Manama, Sept. 29 (BNA): A Ministerial Panel session will be held within the Bahrain International e-Government Forum 2018, to be organised under the patronage of Deputy Premier, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa on October 7-8.
Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, and Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister, Zayed bin Rashid Al-Zayani, will speak during the session, themed “Digital Transformation in the Kingdom of Bahrain” and moderated by the Chief Executive of the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), Mohamed Al Qaed.
The ministerial panel will enrich discussions on digital transformation, and add to the forum’s successes over the past years.
The ministerial panel will be followed by another plenary session on “Digital Transformation” in which experts from the UK, the UAE and Oman will participate. They include UK’s Dr. Chris Ferguson, the Director, International and Research, Cabinet Office, Government Digital Service, UAE’s Salem Al Hosan, the Deputy General Manager, Information and eGovernment Sector - Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, and Oman’s Ibrahim Talib Al Wardi, the Acting Director General, eServices, Information Technology Authority.
The session will highlight the experiences of governments in enhancing digital transformation in various government institutions, the main success factors and the lessons learned from the digital transformation process.
m iGA chief, Mohammed Ali Al-Qaed stressed that the kingdom’s experience in adapting technology to boost its digital transformation has yielded positive results in various fields.
More than 20 internationally-recognised speakers will take part in the Bahrain International e-Government Forum 2018, in addition senior ICT professionals and delegates from private, public and NGO sectors.
