Ministry of Municipality and Environment Participates in Annual Meeting of ARASIA Regional Technical Cooperation Program

Doha, June 30 (QNA) - The Ministry of Municipality and Environment, represented by the Radiation and Chemicals Protection Department, participated in the annual meeting of the Regional Technical Cooperation Program for the Arab States in Asia (ARASIA), which was held via videoconferencing in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The Ministry was represented at the meeting by Eng. Abdullah Jumaa Al Muraikhi, the national focal point for the Program. The meeting discussed a number of topics related to ARASIA program for the 2020-2021 session, the achievements made and the challenges and obstacles; in addition to the projects for the next session 2022-2023 and the budget established for it. The meeting also discussed the preparations for the upcoming meetings of the Program's projects, namely the peaceful uses of nuclear energy in the fields of agriculture, food, environment, health and radiation safety.
