Ministry of Municipality and Environment Participates in International Seminar

Doha, November 15 (QNA) - The Environmental Operation Department of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment participated in a seminar on the unified command and control system for emergency preparedness and response. The seminar was organized by the Incident and Emergency Centre at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The symposium focused on the concept of a unified command and control system in the series of safety standards issued by the IAEA, on the management of operations in response to emergencies, which stipulates that arrangements must be made to establish and use a clearly defined and unified command and control system for emergency response, following a comprehensive approach to all hazards, as part of an emergency management system. It also witnessed an interaction between the participants in order to enhance cooperation between the Ministry of Municipality and Environment and the International Atomic Energy Agency in regard to emergencies. The seminar, which was held via the Internet, was attended by Director of the Environmental Operation Department Mubarak Mohammed Al Buainain and a number of department heads. (QNA)
