Ministry prepares for May Day events
BANGKOK, April 30 (TNA) -- Minister for Labor Pol Gen Adul Sangsingkeo today inspected the progress at the Lan Khon Muang plaza in front of the Bangkok City Hall for Labor Day celebrations tomorrow.
Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha will preside over the opening ceremony of the event.
Pol Gen Adul said he was satisfied with all the preparations which include a large air-conditioned tent that can accommodate more than 400 people.
Within the tent, nine booths set up by the various departments of the Ministry of Labor will provide entertainment and the chance to win a special lucky draw.
Tomorrow's events have been divided into two parts. The first starting at 7.15 in the morning. These includes a religious ceremony offering tributes to nine Buddhist monks at the Royal Turf Club of Thailand also known as the Nang Loeng Racecourse.
After that the attendees will be led on a parade to the Lan Khon Muang plaza. More that 6,000 people are expectd to attend the event.
Later in the afternoon Gen Prayut will arrive to officially launch National Labor Day 2018. He will give a speech and meet and talk with workers and hear their views and complaints. (TNA)
