Ministry's prompt response on Russian woman's status hailed

Manama, Mar. 10 (BNA): Russian Ambassador to Bahrain Vagif Garaev thanked the Interior Ministry for its swift response to the Russian embassy’s request to investigate the fate of a Russian woman who, according to Russian media, arrived in Bahrain and disappeared. The ministry within one hour clarified that she had left Bahrain last week. The ambassador said Russian media reported today the disappearance of 21-year-old Russian woman Maria Suzanova who arrived in Bahrain on February 17 and whose family say they have no news of her. He added that the Interior Ministry was promptly notified by the embassy to find about the fate of the girl. The ambassador commended the rapid response of the security authorities who acted promptly even though it was a day off in the Kingdom and informed the ambassador that the Russian national left for Jordan on March 3. Ambassador Garaev requested the Russian media to adhere to accuracy in their reports by getting the correct information from official sources, stressing that inaccurate news are likely to have a negative impact on the good relations between both countries. He added that he had informed the Russian News Agency about the Russian national and about the Interior Ministry’s efforts and cooperation in this respect.
