Minor quake, again, hits Phuket
PHUKET, April 20 (TNA) - The Meteorological Department reported that a minor earthquake of 3.2 on the Richter scale, again, struck Thalang District in Thailand's southern Andaman Phuket Province early Friday morning.
There were, however, no reports of casualties or any damage, following the 2:43am quake, after more than 40 tremors have been reported in Thalang of the southern Thai resort island since April 16.
Local tourism in Thailand's southern Andaman region has remained lively with steady visits by international tourists who appear to understand the situation, though staying on alert by keeping themselves updated.
Local tour operators said that most of the international visitors appeared not to believe in rumours on Phuket sinking or being washed away by a tsunami predicted on April 28, 2012. (TNA)
