MIROS Signs MoU To Beef Up Road Safety In Malaysia, Indonesia, India
BANGI (Selangor, Malaysia), Aug 12 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS) on Tuesday signed memorandums of understanding with 13 strategic partners from Malaysia, Indonesia and India as part of the effort to improve the level of road safety in these three countries.
In a statement issued Tuesday, MIROS said this involves Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, the Malaysian Highway Authority, Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, 3M Malaysia Sdn Bhd, IMU Education Sdn Bhd, Incision Malaysia and DriveMark Sdn Bhd.
From Indonesia are the Indonesia Road Safety Partnership, Human Resources Development Agency of Transportation Ministry, and the TRISAKTI Institute of Transportation and Logistics, while from India, it is the Institute of Road Traffic Education.
“These collaborations are the best synergy to bridge the gap between research and development in the area of road safety between the public and private sectors as well as organise programmes to tackle the issue of road safety, especially that of motorcyclists and private cars in Malaysia and this region,” the MIROS statement said.
