MOFA Undersecretary expresses pride in Bahrain’s achievement in combating trafficking in persons

Manama, June 26 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vice-Chairperson of the National Committee for Trafficking in Persons, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, has expressed pride in Bahrain’s outstanding achievement in combating trafficking in persons and maintaining its classification as the only country in the Middle East and North Africa to achieve Tier 1 status in the Department of State report for trafficking in persons for the third year in a row. Dr Shaikha Rana expressed sincere congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to the Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and to the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, on this outstanding achievement. She noted that this achievement reflects the international recognition of the efforts made by Bahrain in the field of combating trafficking in persons. Dr. Shaikha Rana praised the efforts of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons headed by the CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, Ausama Abdullah Al-Absi, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, in implementing national initiatives and programs that aim to safeguard human rights and combat trafficking in persons in light of the development led by HM the King. She indicated that the ministry is keen to implement these initiatives efficiently and effectively, in resumption of the efforts made by the Advisor to His Majesty the King for Diplomatic Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, in the field of combating trafficking in persons.
