MoFA's Undersecretary meets Philippines' DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers' Affairs

Manama, Dec. 26 (BNA):The Undersecretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa, met at the Ministry’s General Court today, the Department of the Philippines Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migrant Workers' Affairs, Sarah Lou Arriola, who is on an official visit to the Kingdom from 25-28 December . Dr. Shaikha Rana commended the friendly relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Philippines, noting their development in various fields. She stressed the keenness of the Kingdom to further develop joint cooperation at all levels in the benefit of both countries and people. The Undersecretary also expressed her aspiration to convene the Joint Higher Commission between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of the Philippines in the coming year in order to develop bilateral cooperation between the two sides in various fields of mutual interest. The Undersecretary affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pride in acceding to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC). She also highlighted the importance of this step, which reflects the Kingdom’s keenness to strengthen relations with ASEAN countries, support its role at the regional and international levels, and develop joint cooperation mechanisms between the GCC and ASEAN countries to meet the common aspirations of their countries and people and contribute to the consolidation of peace and security in the region and the world. Dr. Shaikha Rana also praised the effective role of the Filipino community in the Kingdom of Bahrain and its contributions to the development process in the Kingdom, expressing its sincere appreciation for the efforts of the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in strengthening bilateral relations between the two friendly countries at all levels. Sarah Lou Arriola hailed the close relations between Bahrain and the Philippines, expressing her appreciation for the support that the Kingdom offers to the Filipino community, evident in the satisfaction shown by the community regarding its life in the Kingdom. She also wished for the continuation of cooperation between the two countries in all fields to achieve the common interests of the two friendly countries and people.
