MOI Statement: No place for bias to protect national interest

Manama, May 11 (BNA): In view of the complex regional situation where everyone has to be conscious of how to deal with it and given the Interior Ministry’s national responsibility to maintain security and stability, there is no place for discriminatory voices in the process, according to a MOI statement. It referred to the principles of the Constitution while protecting the state and society and the need to respect the freedom of expression protected under the law as long as it did not harm national unity. It also said the Kingdom was witnessing development and prosperity thanks to the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. It also said that it was important to highlight that there were some elements who had tried for years to exploit the atmosphere of openness and reforms in the Kingdom through stands and statements that were far from the national responsibility and attempted to create a security crisis, while all efforts were dedicated to maintaining security and social stability. It was noticeable that the sermons of Abdullah Al Ghuraifi did not condemn terrorist acts. On the contrary, he showed sympathy for them and accepted them even as the terrorists targeted policemen, killing 22 of them and injuring 4,000, besides attacking vital targets that terrorised citizens, residents and road-users. What happened in Bahrain was clearly instigated from outside, most particularly by the followers of the Wilayat Al Faqih (Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist) in the region. Those who do not stand with the nation are the ones cooperating with those working against Bahrain’s security. There have been various regional developments, including the designation of the Lebanese Hezbollah, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Daesh as terrorist organisations. This calls for everyone to take up his national responsibility and show unity with the leadership of HM the King. Individuals following the ideology of those terrorist organisations must be held accountable as such acts amount to promoting those organisations and harming the security and supreme interests of the nation. The Kingdom, under the wise leadership of HM the King and thanks to its loyal citizens aware of their Bahraini identity, is moving ahead steadily as a society which has security, stability, progress and prosperity. Bahrain of the future requires stands, voices and pens that assume their national responsibility and not biased voices that try to justify unlawful acts and do not respect national interests and their national and Arab identity. They are the ones who have no place in the nation of the future that is being built and developed with a focus on reforming the youth and integrating them into their communities. Finally, the national interest requires everyone to assume his responsibility by playing a vital role in supporting the efforts to promote stability in order to protect the nation and maintain peace. May God protect Bahrain.
