Moroccan, Bahraini Handicrafts Week opens

Manama, Sep. 25 (BNA): The Moroccan – Bahraini Handicrafts Week today opened under the patronage of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Al-Zayani. Moroccan Minister of Handicrafts, Social Economy and Solidarity, Fatema Marouane attended the opening ceremony at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC). Bahrain Authority for Tourism and Exhibitions (BATE) Chief Executive Officer Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al-Khalifa and Moroccan Ambassador to Bahrain Ahmed Rashid Khatabi were also present. The exhibition will open tomorrow (September 26) its doors to the public and will conclude on October 1. It will run from 10 am to 1 pm and from 4 pm to 10 pm. The exhibition covers an area of 3,000-sq-m and will include 22 Bahraini handicrafts and 13 Moroccan handicrafts. The event will also include live traditional music and workshops. Al-Zayani said that the exhibition reflects the strategy of the Government and BATE to develop the sector of tourism, looking forward to bolstering joint cooperation with Morocco. Moroccan Minister of Handicrafts, Social Economy and Solidarity, Fatema Marouane stressed the importance of the exhibition which, she says, aims to elaborate a joint partnership, in line with the directives of King Mohammed VI of Morocco and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa.
