Moroccan embassy marks Green March anniversary

Manama, BNA): The Kingdom of Moroccan will mark the 43rd anniversary of the Green March, which falls on Tuesday (November 6). The Moroccan Embassy held a ceremony on this occasion, in the presence of embasy’s staff, members of the Moroccan community living in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Moroccan Ambassador to Manama Ahmed Rashid Khatabi stressed the deep significance of the glorious anniversary, underlining his country’s endeavor over the past 43 years to complete national university and confirm sovereignty over the southern provinces. He paid tribute to King Mohammed VI of Morocco, who played a crucial role in fast-tracking comprehensive development ever since he visited the city of Laayoune to mark the 40th anniversary of of the Green March, earmarking $8 billion to develop the Southern provinces. He underlined Moroccan diplomatic successes, as more countries revoked their recognition of the secessionist (The Polisario). He pointed out that the Kingdom of Morocco has returned to the African Union, crowining its diplomatic strides.
