M'sian Army 3rd Division Commander To Head International Monitoring Team In Mindanao

MELAKA (Malaysia), March 4 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Army 3rd Division commander, Major General Zamrose Mohd Zain will be the new head of the International Monitoring Team (IMT) in Mindanao, Philippines, effective March 14. He replaces Major General Sheikh Mukhsin Sheikh Hassan, while 7th Brigade commander Brig General Mohd Hassan Loman will be the acting 3rd Division commander. Zamrose said the IMT played a critical role in support of the peace negotiations between the Philippine government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front(MILF) and in continuing the momentum of resolving the conflict in Mindanao. "For this year, we will continue with improvements and carry out the tasks entrusted to us by the government for peace in the region," he told a press conference, here, Thursday. --BERNAMA
