Music studio to record Samad Behrangi’s short stories
TEHRAN,April 6(MNA) -- The Iranian studio Ava Khorshid plans to record some short stories by renowned writer Samad Behrnagi in an album.
“Olduz and the Talking Doll”, “Olduz and the Crows”, “The Little Black Fish”, “One Peach and Thousnad Peaches”, and “Bald Hassan” had been selected for the album, Ava Khorshid Director Babak Chamanara said in a press release on Friday.
The stories will be voiced by a group of thespians including Payam Dehkordi, Mehdi Pakdel, Elham Pavehnejad, and Fatemeh Naqavi.
Iranian composer and tar virtuoso Hossein Alizadeh will compose music for the album, which is scheduled to be released in late August.
“To compose music for the stories, I intend to distance myself from my own style and immerse myself in the atmosphere of Samad’s stories,” Alizadeh said in the press release.
He said a group of Iranian instruments have been selected for the compositions, which he believes that will “paint Samad’s stories.”
Behrangi (1939-1967) was an Iranian teacher, social critic, folklorist, translator, and short story writer of Azeri extraction. He is famous for “The Little Black Fish”.
He drowned in the Aras River and his death was blamed on the Pahlavi regime.
