My artworks reflect significance of nature: Iranian land artist Nadalian
TEHRAN,May 8(MNA) – Iranian land artist Ahmad Nadalian believes his life is merged with nature and that many of his artworks reflect significance of nature.
The activities and artworks by Nadalian were reviewed during a program arranged at the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) on Sunday.
Nadalian began to display some of his works and explained bout the works he has created in different stages; “my life is merged with nature, though some have been destroyed by man over the years.
“I have so far held many workshops in Iran and other countries and these workshops have provided the chance for me to meet and create joint works with foreign artists,” he said.
“Life in Hormoz Island in southern Iran made me familiar with the colorful sand of the region where I got the idea of coloring hands and faces and make different portraits,” he continued.
“The great importance of environment is not only seen in my land works, but I have also tried to highlight it in the ornaments I make such as the earrings,” he said, adding this reminds the individual wearing it of the importance of the nature, he concluded.
The program continued with a short film depicting Nadalian’s stone engravings of fish swimming in the long stream of Tehran’s Vali-e Asr Street.
Nadalian is famous for his land art creations in Iran and around the world. He has been living in nature for over 12 years and searches for raw materials for his artistic creations. He later displays them in natural settings; both his concepts and the material used are related to nature.
