Naftogaz Ukrainy’s debt to Gazprom reaches over $2.2 bln with due regard of March gas supplies

MOSCOW, April 3 (Itar-Tass) - Ukrainian domestic joint stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy’s debt to Russian gas giant Gazprom is estimated at more than 2.2 billion dollars with due account of March gas supplies, Gazprom said in a statement upon results of a meeting between CEO of Russian and Ukrainian energy companies Aleksey Miller and Andrey Kobolev in the Russian capital on Thursday. “The meeting focused on the need to take urgent measures for Naftogaz Ukrainy’s repayment of the debt amassed for Russian gas supplies. By now Naftogaz’s debt is estimated at more than 2.2 billion dollars with due account of March gas delivery,” Gazprom stated. In early April Miller has made public Naftogaz’s debt at 1.7 billion dollars. From April 1, 2014, the gas price for Ukraine in the second quarter is set at 385.5 dollars per 1,000 cubic metres.
