National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking Holds Meeting

Doha, February 22 (QNA) - The National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking held Monday its first periodic meeting for 2022, under the chairmanship of HE Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, the chairman of the committee. The meeting reviewed a number of proposals and projects aimed at enhancing protection and support for victims of human trafficking, promoting the role of the Committee in combating human trafficking, and enhancing coordination between it and the concerned state authorities in this regard. The meeting also discussed strengthening the State of Qatar's efforts in combating human trafficking by enhancing the rule of law, in addition to a number of projects that would enhance coordination with the competent and concerned authorities to ensure protection and support for victims of human trafficking, and other related issues. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Public Health, in addition to the Public Prosecution, the Government Communications Office and the National Human Rights Committee.
