National Council for Arts holds meeting with Youth Ministry, US Embassy

Manama, Dec. 7 (BNA): The National Council for Arts held a meeting with the Youth Affairs Ministry and the US Embassy. Youth Minister, Rawan Najeeb Tawfiqi, Deputy Chairman of the National Council for Arts, HH Shaikh Turki bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, Member of the Council, Shaikha Dhuwa bint Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, and the Press and Cultural Attaché Linda McMullen, attended. They discussed ways to enhance cooperation among them in the fields of art and the opportunities available to organise joint activities that contribute to motivating young people to join in the field of art, encouraging young people to invest in arts, supporting artistic talent, as well as refining and highlighting their skills, in addition to spreading awareness of the importance of arts and their impact on society among young people. The meeting also focused on setting general frameworks for Bahraini youth to meet with their counterparts from brotherly and friendly countries to exchange artistic experiences of all kinds and benefit from experiences in this field, as well as improving the artistic work system and providing various ways to make it a bridge of culture among peoples and spread the values of tolerance and coexistence among all. On the occasion, Minister of Youth Affairs stressed the importance of cooperation and communication in order to find opportunities for young people in various fields of arts, which contributes to developing their abilities and capabilities, in addition to transferring experiences and expertise among young people from all over the world in the field of arts. HH Shaikh Turki bin Rashid affirmed the National Council for Arts' keenness to support the available opportunities that contribute to motivating young people to join arts of all kinds, stressing the need to work with partners to create ideal conditions for young people to show their creativity in the field of arts. the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the Embassy of the United States of America are organising a joint event under the name "Next Level", as part of the Kingdom's celebrations of its national days. As part of event, US and Bahrain artists draw murals and artistic drawings on a street in the Kingdom. The painted murals will seek to promote noble goals, including celebrating the kingdom's national days and spreading the values of tolerance, coexistence and peace. Many US artists are currently in Bahrain to take part in the "Next Level" event. The Youth Affairs Ministry has completed all procedures to ensure the success of the event in which Bahraini and US youth will participate.
