National Policy on Industry 4.0 Underway
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 5 (Bernama) -- The government is drafting a national policy on Industry 4.0 as part of the process of moving the country into the fourth industrial revolution.
According to Malaysian Investment Development Authority Advanced Technology and R&D Division senior deputy director Noor Suziyanti Saad, the policy will involve five task forces.
They are infrastructure and ecosystem led by Communications and Multimedia Ministry; funding and incentives (Finance Ministry); talent and human capital (Human Resources Ministry and Higher Education Ministry); technology and standards (Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry); and Small and Medium Enterprises and Industry 4.0 (SME Corp).
“The policy will be completed by the end of the year,” said Noor Suziyanti, who was a panellist at the ‘Industry 4.0 and Digitalisation’ conference held here Monday.
The two-day conference beginning Monday, is organised by Talent Development (M) Sdn Bhd and Malaysian Institute of Management.
The conference focuses on the urgency with which Malaysia needs to respond to the fourth industrial revolution that saw more and more jobs moved into automation.
