National progress rests on security, stability

Manama, Dec. 14 (BNA): Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi, Minister of Information Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD) has praised the role of security agencies in safeguarding the citizens' and residents' lives, defending the homeland security and stability, securing public and private property, preserving cultural and developmental accomplishments in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The minister congratulated the Ministry of Interior's personnel led by Interior Minister Lt.-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa on the Bahraini Police Day celebrated on December 14 along with celebrations of the Kingdom's National Day festivities.
He praised the performance of the security services as per the highest standard of discipline, efficiency, transparency and integrity and capably shouldering their responsibilities of maintaining security, stability, human rights standards and the rule of law.
The minister commended the efficiency, professionalism and high vigilance of the security agencies and personnel in dealing with acts of violence and terrorism, deterring any attempt to breach the law, and boosting the community partnership whilst ensuring security and stability as the foundations of all progress as well as comprehensive sustainable national development and fundamental human rights.
He hailed the coordination of the Bahraini security agencies with their counterparts in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries that successfully foiled and dismantled terrorist cells backed by hostile elements abroad, halting many attempts to smuggle weapons and explosives into the country, and protecting the society from subversion, extremism and terrorism in coordination with Bahrain Defence Force (BDF).
The minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the security services on the National Day, citing His Majesty the King's designating December 17 as the Commemoration Day for fallen servicemen as a humanitarian gesture of recognition of their patriotism and loyal services to the nation.
