NCPO lifts curfew in Thailand's major tourist destinations
BANGKOK, June 3 (TNA) - The army-led National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has lifted curfew in three major tourist destinations in Thailand, aimed to boost tourism-related businesses in the areas.
The NCPO announced on Tuesday afternoon that it has decided to revoke curfew in Pattaya City in seaside Chon Buri Province in the Thai East, as well as in Phuket Province and on Samui Island in Surat Thani Province, the latter two of which are both famous tourist attractions in the Thai South.
According to the coup council, the revocation of curfew in the three areas takes immediate effect, as of June 3.
But the NCPO said that curfew imposed in all other areas in the country, including Bangkok, remains intact, from midnight to 4am, unless there is a change announced by the coup council. (TNA)
