New MCOT President selected

BANGKOK, September 7 (TNA) - The incumbent Secretary-General of the Office of the Education Council, Anek Permwongseni, has been selected as the new President of MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT), a leading Thai media agency running the Thai News Agency or TNA, Modernine TV and Modern Radio Networks. MCOT Acting President Premkamon Tinnakorn Na Ayutthaya told journalists on Thursday that the company's selection committee has resolved to select Anek for the MCOT's top job and is forwarding the decision to the Thai government for a final approval. Premkamon said Anek, who is a former MCOT executive and has been recognized to have well-administrative vision and knowledge of digital television broadcasting, will be formally appointed as the MCOT's new President by the company's board of executives on September 26 and will take his new office on October 1, 2012.
