Newspapers: DIMDEX 2022 Reflects Qatar's Leading Position as Regional Hub for Business, Industry, Modern Technology
Doha, March 22 (QNA) - In their editorials Tuesday, Qatari newspapers affirmed that the State of Qatar has become a center for seekers of peace, security and stability in the entire world.
In this regard, the newspapers highlighted the opening of the 7th edition of Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2022), which reflects Qatar's desire to support regional and global security.
The papers said that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani patronized the opening ceremony of DIMDEX 2022 at Qatar National Convention Centre on Monday morning, in the presence of a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs, Ministers, and Ministers of Defense and Chiefs of Staff of brotherly and friendly countries, as well as a number of Their Excellencies Ambassadors accredited to the State, senior officers of the Qatari Armed Forces, and academics and experts in the security and maritime defense sector.
Al-Raya daily pointed out that DIMDEX 2022 reflects Qatar's leading position as a regional hub for business, industry and modern technology, noting that the exhibition has consolidated its position on the international scene, with the seventh edition witnessed an increase in the number of exhibitors and participating countries.
DIMDEX 2022 will enable the participating countries to display the latest technologies in the field of defense safety, and allow them to make deals that benefit everyone, the paper said.
The displayed technologies in the exhibition enhance the defense security of countries, the paper said, noting that the State of Qatar is keen, through this year's edition, to show the latest in the field of maritime defense so that nations enjoy peace, security and stability and work to control their borders and prevent piracy and obstruction of international trade across the seas.
The paper also underlined that the State of Qatar believes in the importance of using modern technologies in order to establish security and consolidate stability in the world, which faces unprecedented challenges such as environmental pollution, piracy, illegal immigration, smuggling, poaching, organized crime, military conflicts, obstruction of international navigation routes and violation of states sovereignty.
In conclusion, Al-Raya said that there is a need for readiness, cooperation and coordination for a secure and stable future, and it is imperative to develop understanding of the challenges facing maritime security and intensify efforts to confront them and limit the scope of their impact, stressing that DIMDEX 2022 provides an interactive platform with partners and developers to find sustainable solutions that support global security and the safety of international navigation.
For its turn, Al-Watan newspaper said that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani patronized the opening ceremony of the 7th edition of Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2022), held under the theme "The most prominent international event for the communication of security and defense professionals", at Qatar National Convention Centre on Monday morning.
HH the Amir toured the exhibition where he was briefed on the latest technologies, innovations and systems related to maritime defense, as well as the various modern equipment and vessels equipped with defense and communication systems and radars, in addition to other marine industries and services displayed by more than 200 local, regional and international companies, the newspaper added.
The newspaper pointed out that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met Monday morning with Their Excellencies the Ministers of Defense and Chiefs of Staff of the armed forces of brotherly and friendly countries participating in the 7th edition of Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2022) at Qatar National Convention Centre.
Eleven visiting warships from nine countries, in addition to a ship from Qatar have docked at Hamad Port ahead of the event where about 200 exhibitors representing all spectrum of the global defense and security industry will display the latest innovations and technological products, the newspaper added.
Al-Watan concluded its editorial by emphasizing that the visiting warships in Hamad Port is one of the main attractions of the event, giving visitors an opportunity to explore modern naval warships, as well as interact with crew members, which is one of the most prominent features of DIMDEX since the inaugural edition. The presence of a record number of 12 warships at DIMDEX 2022 not only describes the high international profile of the event, but also the success achieved in building long-term international partnerships.
In turn, the Peninsula newspaper noted the launch of the 7th edition of the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2022), which is held under the theme "Connecting the World's Maritime Defense and Security Community", stressing that the exhibition constitutes an international platform for strengthening cooperation relations in the military and defense fields.
The newspaper stated that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani patronizing the opening ceremony of DIMDEX 2022 has reinforced the importance of this exhibition for the State of Qatar and the region, indicating that DIMDEX 2022 has developed into an important event in the defense sector.
The newspaper explained that the event comes at a time when Qatar expands its military cooperation with its international partners, adding that the exhibition is a dynamic platform for global exhibiting companies and stakeholders.
The newspaper referred to the statements of the Chairman of DIMDEX, Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi Saleh Al Ansari when he stressed that this years event would showcase the latest in marine equipment, technology, and combat systems. He added that DIMDEX is different from other regional exhibitions of this nature because it is focused on maritime and technologies associated with it.
The Peninsula concluded its editorial by saying that the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference (MENC) brings together renowned industry experts and distinguished academics worldwide to discuss the main challenges facing the maritime security sector. (QNA)
