Newspapers Hail Qatari-Tunisian Relations, Emphasize Importance of Developing Them

Doha, November 17 (QNA) - The Qatari newspapers published Tuesday hailed the close relations between Qatar and Tunisia, emphasizing the importance of pushing them into new horizons and transforming them from a common relationship of cooperation into a comprehensive strategic relationship. The newspapers referred to the joint statement issued on Monday, on the occasion of the visit of HE President of the Republic of Tunisia Kais Saied to Qatar. The two sides expressed their satisfaction with the consultations and co-ordination between them and looked forward to promoting all aspects of co-operation at all levels by strengthening the mutual visits of senior officials in both countries. For its part, Al-Watan newspaper affirmed in its editorial that the visit of HE President of the Republic of Tunisia Kais Saied to Qatar is an important opportunity to strengthen the close relations between the two countries and push them towards broader horizons. It also constitutes an opportunity to enhance Arab cooperation in circumstances that call for convergence, dialogue, solidarity and coordination and on the basis of mutual respect and common interests. The talks of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE the President of the Republic of Tunisia Kais Saied reflected the depth of relations between the two brotherly countries and the keenness to strengthen and develop them in all fields. They also reflected the congruence of the two countries views on of concern to them on the regional and international arenas, the newspaper added. The joint statement issued confirms the two sides' satisfaction with the consultations and co-ordination between them and their aspiration to advance all aspects of cooperation at all levels through strengthening the mutual visits of senior officials in both countries. It also praised the distinguished co-operation and partnership relations in all fields, especially the economic and trade relations between the two countries. The joint statement also agreed on the need to strengthen consultation and co-ordination of positions at the bilateral level in various regional and international forums, in order to serve Arab causes and support just humanitarian causes, foremost among which is the Palestinian issue, in addition to enhancing security and stability in the Middle East and the world, especially in light of Tunisia's membership in the Security Council, Al-Watan noted. The two sides stressed the importance of the peaceful solution of all regional and international issues through dialogue and expressed their satisfaction at the convening of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in Tunisia under the auspices of the United Nations, and expressed their aspiration to achieve the desired peaceful settlement that preserves Libya's security, stability and unity, the newspaper said. Al-Watan concluded its editorial by saying that this important and successful visit of HE the Tunisian president will establish a new phase of strong and solid relations thanks to the congruence of viewpoints and the common keenness to strengthen and develop them for the benefit of our two countries and peoples. For its part, Al-Sharq newspaper said in its editorial that the Qatari-Tunisian summit reflected the depth of the fraternal relations and the distinguished historical ties between the two brotherly countries, which were strengthened by the discussions of the two leaders HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of the Republic of Tunisia Kais Saied. The newspaper pointed out that the Qatari-Tunisian relations are deep, exceptional, characterized by steady growth and unique in their high pace of fruitful cooperation in light of a new stage in bilateral relations, which constitutes a qualitative leap and adds to the strong fraternal relations between the brotherly countries. Al Sharq affirmed that consultation, coordination, and the congruence of views between the two countries and the mutual visits would lead to all aspects of joint cooperation at all levels in light of the distinguished partnership and promising opportunities enjoyed by the two countries, which help in the realization of valuable projects that benefit the two countries. Qatar and Tunisia are also looking forward to elevating relations to wider heights through the meetings of the Tunisian-Qatari Supreme Joint Committee during the first quarter of 2021 in Doha, the newspaper stated. The paper concluded by saying that Qatar and Tunisia play an important role in supporting Arab causes and just humanitarian causes, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, and enhancing security and stability in the Middle East and the world. In turn, Al-Raya newspaper hailed the extensive talks held between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Tunisia Kais Saied which reflected the importance of the Qatari-Tunisian relations. The Qatari daily said that the discussions reflected the depth of bilateral relations and convergence of views of the two countries on various regional and international issues, pointing out that the visit and the outcomes of the talks reflected the depth of the Qatari-Tunisian relations and the importance of transforming them from joint cooperation relations to comprehensive strategic cooperation relations. In the joint statement issued on the occasion of the visit, the Qatari and Tunisian sides expressed their satisfaction for the consultation and coordination between the two countries and their aspiration to promote all aspects of cooperation at all levels by strengthening the mutual visits of senior officials in both countries, the paper stated, highlighting the Qatari-Tunisian relations of cooperation and partnership in all fields especially the economic and commercial. Furthermore, the newspaper said that the two leaders affirmed the importance of holding meetings of the Tunisian-Qatari high joint committee during the first quarter of 2021 in Doha, which will contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields of common interest. Therefore, the two leaders called for the completion of consultations on the agreements under study to be signed between the two countries, the Qatari daily added. In conclusion, Al-Raya highlighted the Qatari-Tunisian keenness to push these relations to new horizons; therefore, the two sides noted the importance of encouraging cooperation in the field of investment, which will play an effective role in strengthening and consolidating bilateral investment and economic relations between the two countries.
