Newspapers Highlight HH the Amir's Important Speech at Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership

Doha, August 29 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers highlighted in their Sunday editorials the important messages contained in HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's speech at the Opening Session of the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership in Iraq on Saturday, in which HH the Amir outlined the parameters of restoring Iraq to its position, the most prominent of which is that the security and stability of Iraq is integral part of the security and stability of other countries in the region and that the unity of Iraq is one of the most important steps to address the root causes of crisis. The newspapers unanimously agreed that the participation of HH the Amir with Their Majesties, Excellencies and Highnesses, and the leaders of countries and heads of government of brotherly and friendly countries in the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership reflected HH the Amir's keenness to support all efforts aimed at establishing security and stability in Iraq and in the rest of the countries in the region. Al-Raya newspaper said in its editorial that HH the Amir outlined the parameters of restoring Iraq to its position through several messages in HH the Amir's speech in the Iraqi capital on Saturday, most notably that the security and stability of Iraq is an integral part of the security and stability of other countries in the region. HH the Amir added that the unity of Iraq is one of the most important steps to address crises in it, with the need to address the root causes that led to the emergence of the successive crises, the newspaper pointed out, adding that HH the Amir further expressed belief that Iraq is qualified to play an active role in establishing security and peace in the region. The newspaper added that the Baghdad Conference, which brought together Arab leaders and heads of government, created a state of optimism in the Arab world, referring to HH the Amir's speech in which HH confirmed that Qatar will spare no effort in supporting Iraq to achieve a comprehensive renaissance in peace, security and development. The paper underlined that Qatar's wise leadership has stressed that it is important to continue building the state's institutions, maintain the independence of Iraq, and consolidate its national sovereignty, and that Iraq is a country rich in natural and human resources, but what it has gone through, impeded it from benefiting from its potentials, noting that HH called on the international community to provide support to enable Iraq to complete the reconstruction of its institutions. Al-Raya concluded its editorial by pointing out that the state of optimism has increased towards a more powerful and cooperative Arab world, especially after promising meetings between Arab leaders and heads and their agreement in the conference's final communique that they stand by Iraq's government and people, and support its efforts in reconstruction and strengthening of state institutions. In turn, Al-Sharq newspaper said in its Sunday editorial that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's participation with his brothers Their Majesties, Excellencies, and Highnesses leaders of countries and heads of state of brotherly and friendly countries in the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, reflects Qatar's keenness to support all efforts aimed at establishing security and stability in Iraq and in the entire region. The newspaper stressed that the State of Qatar is keen to continue its support for the Iraqi people to help them achieve their aspirations for peace, security and development, and to restore the role and position it deserves at the regional and international levels, based on Qatar's belief that the security and stability of Iraq is part of the security and stability of the rest of the countries in the region. The paper noted HH the Amir's affirmation that the unity of Iraq as a nation and people, and strengthening the legitimate institutions of the state including unifying the legitimate arms under the sovereignty of the state, are among the most important steps in this direction, in light of the Qatari and Arab desire for Iraq to return to play an active role in establishing security and peace in the region. Iraq is a country rich in its human and natural resources, the paper said, adding that the wars, terrorism, social and political issues which it experienced, impeded it from benefiting from its potentials. It is time for the country to return to its Arab and regional surroundings, the paper added. Al-Sharq concluded its editorial by saying that the State of Qatar realizes that the way to confront major challenges and address deep crises and tension begins with addressing their roots causes that led to the emergence of these crises, which is a mission that requires collective action to reduce tensions in the region and strengthen relations of cooperation between its countries in a manner that serves the national security of countries and achieves the common interests of these countries and their people. For its part, Al-Watan daily said that in his address at the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani presented a clear road map, based on addressing the root causes that led to the emergence of the successive crises, emphasizing that the unity of Iraq as a nation and people, and strengthening the legitimate institutions of the State including unifying the legitimate arms under the sovereignty of the State. The paper underlined HH the Amir's affirmation that the State of Qatar will spare no effort to stand by the brotherly Iraq and provide support to the brotherly Iraqi people, and assist them in their efforts to achieve a comprehensive development in their country, out of its belief that Iraq is qualified to play an active role in establishing security and peace in the region. The paper stressed that what His Highness said is a basic entry point for Iraq's return to play its historical and pivotal role in the Arab world, adding that from this perspective, it is necessary to support and assist it in order to overcome the wars, terrorism, and manifold social and political ills which it experienced and which impeded it from benefiting from its actual potentials. In conclusion, Al-Watan expressed hope that Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership would constitute a real glimmer of hope for stability in the region and in the Middle East in general, as supporting Iraq is more urgent than ever, because without a stable and prosperous Iraq, there will be no solutions to the security threats in the region. The Peninsula newspaper highlighted HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's meeting on Saturday on the sidelines of Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership with Their Majesties, Excellencies, and Highnesses leaders of countries and heads of state of brotherly and friendly countries, including HH Vice-President, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; HE President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah Al Sisi; HM King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and HE President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron. In his address at the conference, HH called for addressing the root causes that made this region embrace hotspots of tension that pose threat to the peace and security of the region and the globe, and stressed that the State of Qatar believes that Iraq is qualified to play an active role in establishing security and peace in the region, expressing his readiness to support Iraq to restore its role and the status it deserves on both regional and international levels, the paper said. The paper underlined HH's assertion to continue support for the brotherly people of Iraq, and to assist them in achieving their aspirations in peace, security and development. It also noted HH the Amir's call for the international community to provide the necessary support to Iraq to rebuild its civil and military institutions, and HH's affirmation that the State of Qatar will spare no effort to stand by the brotherly Iraq and its people to achieve the desired security, stability and development. In conclusion, The Peninsula said that the State of Qatar also believes that Iraq can be one of the pillars of stability in the region with the support of neighbouring countries and international community to put end to turning the country into an arena for international conflicts.
