Newspapers: Qatari-Moldovan Relations Enjoy Promising Prospects
Doha, June 13 (QNA) - In their Monday editorials, Qatari newspapers highlighted relations between the State of Qatar and the friendly Republic of Moldova.
The newspapers said that these relations will achieve further development, in light of the mutual visits between officials of the two countries, and in light of the common will to transform agreements into a road map that opens new horizons for a more prosperous future for the relations between the two countries.
The papers referred to the official talks session held by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani on Sunday with HE Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Natalia Gavrilita, and the agreements signed after the session, indicating that these talks reflect the will of the two countries and their common desire to strengthen and develop bilateral relations in various fields.
In its editorial, Al-Watan said that HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior held on Sunday morning at the Amiri Diwan an official talks session with HE Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova. During the session, the two sides discussed bilateral relations, and ways to develop and strengthen them in various fields, especially economic, agricultural and food security, in addition to the latest regional and international situations of mutual interest, it added.
After the session, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and HE Prime Minister of Moldova witnessed the signing of an agreement on technical, scientific and economic cooperation in the field of agriculture, and an agreement on the abolition of entry visas for holders of ordinary passports between the two countries, the paper said, noting that this reflects the common desire in developing the existing cooperation.
Relations between Qatar and Moldova were established in 1997, and the opening of the first diplomatic mission of Moldova in an Arab country was in Qatar, the paper pointing out, adding that the relations between the two countries are friendly and in a good framework, as the two countries look forward to expanding the scope of future cooperation.
In conclusion, Al-Watan said that Qatar's relations with the countries of the world are based on mutual respect and common interests, and its foreign policy is based on firm pillars and rules at various levels, regionally and internationally, and is characterized by interaction, dialogue and cooperation, which enabled it to establish the best relations with all countries of the world without exception.
In turn, Al-Sharq daily newspaper hailed in its editorial on Monday the results of the official talks held by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani on Sunday with HE Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Natalia Gavrilita, and the agreements that were signed after the session.
The paper pointed out that theses agreements included technical, scientific and economic cooperation in the field of agriculture, and an agreement on the abolition of entry visas for holders of ordinary passports between the two countries, reflecting the will of the two countries and their common desire to work towards strengthening and developing bilateral relations in various fields.
The paper indicated that the State of Qatar and the Republic of Moldova have many possibilities and potentials, in addition to the common will and great desire to strengthen relations in various sectors, especially in the economic, agricultural and food security fields, as well as the attractive climate, the benefits available to facilitate investments, and the support provided to the private sector, which helps to build strong commercial relations between the two sides.
The visit of HE the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova to Doha, her meetings with officials and businessmen, and her attendance at the inauguration ceremony of the statue of friendship between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Moldova, that entitled "Together towards the Future" in Katara in a celebration marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, have formed a new impetus for the relationships that continue to grow and prosper year after year, the newspaper added.
Al-Sharq concluded its editorial by saying that the relations between Qatar and Moldova are promised to achieve further development, in light of the mutual visits between officials, and the shared concern to sponsor them, and the mutual will to transform the agreements into a road map that opens new horizons for a more prosperous future for relations between the two countries.
The Peninsula newspaper said in its Monday editorial that the visit of HE the Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilita has coincided with the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic ties of the two countries which are based on the mutual respect and the desire of both sides to develop these relations to the best for the common interest of both countries.
Over the past years, the two sides have signed several agreements covering wide a range of areas for cooperation and to enhance the relations in sectors of culture, education, higher education and scientific research and for cooperation in health and medical sciences, the paper said, adding that the relations have also witnessed promising steps with the visit as the two countries singed an agreement on the abolition of entry visas for holders of ordinary passports between the two countries and an agreement on technical, scientific and economic cooperation in the field of agriculture.
The Peninsula indicated that during the official talks session yesterday, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Natalia Gavrilita discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop and strengthen them in various fields, in addition to the latest regional and international situations of mutual interest.
The paper stressed that the continuously developing relations with the Republic of Moldova is creating further investment opportunities for Qatari investors in various sectors, including agriculture, infrastructure, tourism and others.
The Peninsula concluded its editorial by saying that Qatar and Moldova are showing desire and determination to strengthen bilateral relations and movine to closer cooperation, and that the relations of the two countries have aspirations for joint action and implementation of the agreements signed in various fields to serve the interests of both the countries and their peoples.
