NIHR Chairperson receives US Chargé d'Affaires

Manama, Mar. 11 (BNA): National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)´s Chairperson Maria Khoury received US embassy Chargé D’Affaires Margaret Nardi. Khoury welcomed the cooperation with the US embassy, praising the friendship between Bahrain and the US, stressing the importance of continuing this cooperation to the benefit of both countries. The two parties discussed the efforts made by NIHR during the pandemic, such as the institution’s visits and follow ups to isolation and quarantine centers to monitor the procedures taken by the authorities that provide medical services to infected patients. The chargé d’affaires praised NIHR’s efforts to preserve human rights in the Kingdom and its measures taken against the allegations promoted by some non-governmental organizations, which do not reflect the reality of human rights in Bahrain, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
