NIHR, Egypt's NCHR sign MoU

Cairo, June 15 (BNA): The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) and Egypt’s National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). Signed by the NIHR Chairman, Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, and the NCHR President, Dr. Moushira Khattab, the MoU aims to deepen cooperation between the two sides in the field of human rights promotion, as well as enhance the exchange of information and technical cooperation. On the occasion, Al-Derazi indicated the MoU will enable the two parties, within their terms of reference, to promote the culture of human rights in the two brotherly countries, through holding local, regional and international conferences, forums and training sessions. Dr. Khattab said that the MoU will broaden cooperation between the two sides in the legal and human rights fields, through the exchange of expertise and successful experiences, as well as the training of national competencies in fields related to human rights. Under the MoU, the NIHR in Bahrain and the NCHR in Egypt will cooperate and coordinate in consolidating human rights, as well as exchange visits, legal and human rights consultation and specialised publications and studies. They will also hold joint human rights-related events and conferences.
