NIHR participates in 41st session of UPR in Geneva

Geneva, Nov. 8 (BNA): National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) President Ali Ahmed Al Derazi participated in the 41st session of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) and stressed the great efforts made by the Kingdom in advancing human rights. He added that the institution submitted its report to the Working Group for the periodic review, saying it included recommendations that strengthen human rights concepts and comply with international standards. The delegation met with the Belgian Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva Marc Pecsteen. The permanent representative was briefed on the institution and its role in protecting and promoting human rights in the Kingdom. He expressed his appreciation to the institution's delegation for their efforts to enhance their role in human rights protection.
