NIHR participates in Eurasian Alliance meeting

Moscow, Nov. 1 (BNA): National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)'s President Ali Ahmed Al Derazi participated as an observer in the sixth meeting of the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance entitled “Exchange of best practices in protecting youth rights on current problems in the Eurasia region,” organized by the High Commission for Human Rights in the Russian Federation. The meeting reviewed data on the role of national institutions in supporting youth rights, and national legislation supporting the role of youth in development. The NIHR president explained the institution's role in protecting and promoting youth rights and submitted proposals to a number of national legislations in the same regard. Al Derazi confirmed that Bahrain has trained more than 1990 individuals this year and youth has participated by 40% in total events. The meeting concluded by adopting a resolution calling on the governments of their countries in the Eurasia region, with a proposal to pay special attention to the expansion of socio-economic measures to support youth, including the establishment or expansion of preferential mortgage programs, preferential loans for education, and grant programs for talented youth, and work on the possibility of establishing an international bank for professional jobs for youth, establishing public youth councils under their supervision, and considering the possibility of including the summer course for human rights defenders from Youth belonging to the coalition in the program of educational youth forums.
