NIHR President, Dutch Ambassador discuss cooperation, coordination

Manama, Mar. 31 (BNA): National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) President Maria Khoury has reviewed with the Ambassador of The Netherlands to Bahrain Laurens Westhoff the institution's efforts to support, promote and protect human rights in the Kingdom, especially during the current conditions of the coronavirus pandemic. Maria, during her online conversation with the ambassador based in Kuwait touched on the institution’s call center and complaints mechanism, as well as on the training and educational programs the institution provides to various segments of the society. The conversation also covered issues of shared interest and the two sides discussed strengthening cooperation and coordination in areas related to human rights. The Dutch ambassador expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by the NIHR and praised the strong ties between the two countries, wishing the Kingdom and its people further progress and prosperity.
