NIHR reviews cooperation with British embassy

Manama, Jan. 21 (BNA): the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Chairperson Maria Khoury received Deputy British Ambassador, Stuart Summers, and outgoing Head of Political Affairs, Media and Public Relations department at the embassy Sherrill Edis. Khoury welcomed the active and continuous cooperation with the embassy, ​​reviewing the NIHR’s efforts in the pandemic, through its field visits to isolation and quarantine centers, reform and rehabilitation centers and detention centers. The two sides touched on a number of issues related to the protection and promotion of human rights, especially in the field of training. The meeting discussed strengthening cooperation and coordination to unify efforts in areas related to human rights. The deputy ambassador expressed his thanks and appreciation for NIHR’s efforts in promoting and protecting human rights in Bahrain, stressing the British embassy’s readiness to cooperate and provide technical support.
