NIHR sheds light on expatriate workers’ rights

Manama, Sept. 29 (BNA): The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has highlighted the pandemic impact on expatriate workers and Bahrain’s efforts to protect human rights in general and health rights in particular for everyone. The virtual presentation “The Bahraini role in protecting expatriate workers’ rights during the coronavirus pandemic” presented proposals to address the most important challenges facing expatriate workers during the spread of the coronavirus. It also discussed the institution’s role in protecting their rights and the best ways of cooperation between official authorities and relevant civil society entities to ensure the workers’ rights and adherence to precautionary measures. NIHR Chairperson Maria Khoury expressed appreciation of the Kingdom's great efforts to combat the pandemic and preserve citizens and residents’ human rights without any discrimination.
