Nominations For Forming General Assembly of Qatari Youth Council Started

Doha, June 20 (QNA) - Ministry of Sports and Youth affiliated Membership and Elections Affairs Committee of the Qatari Youth Council announced the opening of registration for members of Qatari citizens to form the general assembly of the council, starting from today, Monday until the fourth of next July. The committee called on those who are willing to participate in the general assembly to kindly register their names via "Youth for Support" application or alternatively move to the council’s headquarters located in Al Sadd Sports Club during official working hours to submit the membership applications. The committee explained that membership application shall be attached with ID card, modern photography, in addition to a declaration signed by the applicant in compliance with the conditions set forth in the council's statute. The committee's action plan is bifurcated into two key stages, the primary one includes registering members who are willing to join the working membership of the council in accordance with the mandated requirements, while the second stage includes opening the door for candidacy for elections, holding the elections and announcing their results. The Qatar Youth Council intends to consolidate national identity and citizenship among young people, promote a culture of dialogue and communication among young people, as well as explore channels to listen to young people's views and ideas directly and in an organized way. The council also seeks to develop and raise awareness among young people about the issues that concern society and the state, in addition to enhancing the leadership and humanitarian aspects and building the character among young people, as well as contributing to the evaluation and development of strategies and state plans for youth development.
