NPRA takes part in an international seminar

Montreal, June 29 (BNA): Assistant Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), Shaikh Ahmed bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Director of Passports, Major Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Duaj Al Khalifa have participated in the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) TRIP Symposium and Exhibition. Held from June 25 to 28 in Canada, the event aimed to recognise the need for a holistic and integrated approach to traveller identification management. ICAO recognises the benefits of traveller identification management to aviation security and travel facilitation. ICAO's mission is to contribute to the capacity of Member States, under the "No Country Left Behind" objective, to uniquely identify individuals by providing tools and knowledge to establish and confirm the identity of travellers. An exhibition, showcasing a broad range of products and services related notably to travel document security applications, border inspection and automated border control systems, and identity management, was held on the sidelines of the symposium.
