Obama’s visits to Thailand, ASEAN not yet confirmed

BANGKOK, October 12 (TNA) - Deputy Prime Minister General Yuthasak Sasiprapa says that US President Barack Obama’s planned visits to Thailand and other member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have not yet been officially confirmed by Washington. General Yuthasak acknowledged Friday that Obama's scheduled visit to Thailand from November 18-19 remains tentative with no official confirmation from the White House yet. According to the deputy prime minister, the result of the upcoming US presidential election on November 6, 2012 will decide whether Obama will go ahead with his planned visits to Thailand and other ASEAN member states.
