Obama Cancels His Trip To Bali

Jakarta, Oct 4 (Antara) - President Barack Obama has cancelled his trip to Bali, the venue for the APEC Summit from October 7 to 8, 2013. Special Presidential Staff of International Affairs Teuku Faizasyah said President Obama called President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at 8:15 a.m. local time on Friday. During his call, President Obama said he will be unable to attend the APEC Summit due to the ongoing national budget meeting. He added that Secretary of the State John Kerry will be attending the APEC Summit on his behalf. President Yudhoyono conveyed to President Obama that he understands the US president`s constraints as he is aware of the recent developments in the United States.
