Obama's Half-Sister Soetoro-Ng Calls On M'sian PM's Wife

PUTRAJAYA, June 12 (Bernama) -- Education specialist Dr Maya Soetoro-Ng (left), half-sister of U.S. President Barack Obama, on Sunday called on the prime minister's wife and Permata Negara early childhood education and care programme patron Rosmah Mansor (right) at Seri Perdana, official residence of the prime minister of Malaysia, here. At their meeting, Rosmah and Soetoro-Ng shared experiences and exchanged views on efforts to empower educational programmes, particularly those which emphasise integrated and structured child care and early childhood education. Also present at the meeting were National University of Malaysia (UKM) vice-chancellor Prof Dr Sharifah Hapsah Syed Hasan Shahabudin and Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia director-general Dr Mahani Zainal Abidin.
