Officials on standby for rain making mission to relieve haze

BANGKOK, Feb 15 (TNA) - The Department of Royal Rain Making and Agricultural Aviation plans to carry out the artificial rain-making operation immediately when the weather condition is favourable. Department chief, Surasi Kittimonthon said that Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha gave an urgent order for the department to make artificial rain to relieve fine dust, having blanketed Bangkok for several days. Rapid rain making units in Nakhon Sawan, Rayong and Hua Hin are on standby and monitoring the upper weather condition for accurate cloud-seeding operations. The operation will start immediately when the weather is in favorable condition with adequate humidity in the air.
