OIC executive committee convenes for Syria

JEDDAH (A.A) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Executive Committee Foreign Ministerial Meeting began Wednesday to discuss Syria. Delivering a speech at the opening of the meeting, OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said that they were exerting efforts for the last chance for Syria.  Ihsanoglu said OIC has taken several steps for a peaceful solution in Syria so far. OIC earlier said violence against civilians must be ended in Syria, he said and added they were also against an external intervention in Syria. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, ministers from Kazakhstan, Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Senegal are attending the OIC meeting. (Reporting by Irfan Sapmaz)
