OIC Humanitarian Funds Sign Partnership Agreement with International Organization for Migration

Doha, March 03 (QNA) - The Doha-based humanitarian funds of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) signed a partnership agreement today with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to enhance joint cooperation and unify humanitarian efforts in the Arab world and the world in general and to provide support to the communities sheltering the displaced, refugees and their host countries. The agreement was signed by HE Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Humanitarian Funds Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, and HE Chief of Mission of United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Qatar Iman Younis Ereiqat. HE Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Humanitarian Funds, in a speech on this occasion, valued the unlimited support of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for international humanitarian work. His Excellency said that the agreement comes within the framework of the humanitarian funds' keenness to enhance joint cooperation with international organizations and various United Nations agencies, stressing the importance of joint cooperation between the two sides. For her part, HE Chief of Mission of United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM), said that the signing of the agreement by the International Organization for Migration with OIC Humanitarian Funds comes at a time when there is an increased need for partnerships to unify humanitarian efforts, noting the great humanitarian role played by the State of Qatar in supporting UN organizations and their humanitarian programs around the world.
