Oman welcomes Bahrain’s initiative to support peace with Israel

Muscat, Sept. 13 (BNA): Oman has welcomed the initiative taken by Bahrain within its sovereign rights and the tripartite joint declaration on relations with Israel. In a statement reported by the Oman News Agency, the Sultanate expressed its hope that this new strategic direction chosen by some Arab countries would lead towards achieving peace based on ending the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and establishing the independent state of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital. This will embody the principle of the two-state solution stipulated in the Arab and United Nations charters and resolutions and at the same time will reflect the aspirations and demands of all peace-loving countries and peoples for a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East and in the world at large.
