Omani Ambassador praises Interior Ministry's services to inmates at Jau Centre

Manama, May 4 (BNA): The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Abdullah bin Rashid Al-Mudailawi, has lauded the efforts exerted by the Interior Ministry, represented by the Correction and Rehabilitation Centre in Jau, to deliver services and care for inmates at the centre. The envoy was speaking while visiting the Jau Correction and Rehabilitation Centre, along with several ambassadors, upon an invitation by the Interior Ministry. The Dean of Diplomatic Corps and the ambassadors were briefed by the Interior Ministry’s Undersecretary, Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, and the Centre’s officials about the workflow, and the services, programmes and activities provided by the Centre to inmates, in line with its keenness to rehabilitate and reform them. The Omani Ambassador said that in light of the exceptional circumstances and the efforts made to limit the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the Centre’s officials showed an interest in delivering health care and treatment services to inmates, through implementing the necessary health protocol to confront the pandemic, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. The diplomatic delegation visited several buildings, including the medical clinic, where they were informed about a number of facilities devoted to serving inmates. The envoy praised the invitation of the Interior Ministry to visit the Centre, commending its efforts to improve the services and health care provided for inmates, in accordance with the Reform Project spearheaded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
