Omani parliamentary delegation wraps up visit to Bahrain

Manama, June 2 (BNA): The Omani parliamentary delegation, led by the Speaker of Oman’s Shura Council, Shaikh Khalid bin Hilal Al-Mawali, today wrapped up its official visit to the kingdom at the invitation of the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal. Speaker Fawzia Zainal was at the forefront of those who bade farewell to the members of the Omani delegation at the Bahrain International Airport. During the visit, the delegation held official meetings with the representatives of the legislative branch in the kingdom. Talks focused on ways to enhance the brotherly Bahraini-Omani relations in all fields, strengthening cooperation between the legislative branches in the two countries, supporting parliamentary diplomacy, unifying and coordinating stances at the regional and international gatherings. During their official meetings, the Bahraini and Omani sides commended the progress witnessed by the two countries in all sectors thanks to the support of their leaderships. They also expressed their keenness to enhance cooperation between them to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly countries, and reflect the common destiny binding them. They also affirmed the importance of exchanged visits between officials in the two countries in opening up new horizons of constructive and fruitful cooperation that benefits the two brotherly peoples, stressing the need to strengthen joint parliamentary cooperation by taking advantage of parliamentary diplomacy in order to enhance rapprochement between the two countries and boost their development process. The meetings also reviewed ways to enhance bilateral relations in all fields, and the role of laws and legislation in bolstering economic cooperation and increasing joint investments. They also discussed the role of the Representatives Council in Bahrain and the Shura Council in Oman in encouraging and stimulating cooperation in new fields, in line with the goals of the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, and the Oman Vision 2040.
