Ombudsman receives European diplomatic delegation

Manama, Mar. 11 (BNA): Ombudsman Nawaf Mohammed Al-Ma’awda received today a European diplomatic delegation comprising German ambassador Kai Boeckmann, French ambassador Jérôme Cauchard and the Deputy Head of the Italian Diplomatic Mission. He highlighted the main recent activities and efforts of the Ombudsman’s Office and the measures taken to upgrade the mechanisms of its work and activate additional means to serve the public in light of the exceptional circumstances resulting from the precautionary measures put in place to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19). The Ombudsman stressed the ongoing efforts to further promote respect of human rights within the framework of the criminal justice system. He pointed out unflinching keenness on availing of local and international experience. The meeting was attended by Deputy Ombudsman Ghada Hamid Habib and International Cooperation and Development Director Shaikh Mohammed bin Ali Al Khalifa.
