OSCE military observers visit airborne base
Taldikorgan, October 29, 2009 (Khabar) - Ahead of Kazakhstan’s presidency in the OSCE, military observers from this structure have paid a visit to the airborne brigade base located in Taldykorgan.
Amangeldy Aubakirov, chief, centre for weaponry control and inspection, Ministry for Defence of RK:
- By making today’s show, we are actively preparing for the OSCE Presidency. It also implies our openness and transparency of our actions and the fulfillment of confidence measures and security.
Foreign observers got acquainted with the daily routine and military readiness of the Republic’s soldiers, commissioned officers, and saw the basic examples of weaponry and even tried them.
The spokesman for the military observers group, polish officer Matcej Volosek summarised the result of the visit to the military base. The organisation was estimated as high and all the liabilities as part of the Vienna agreement are fulfilled. Next year, it is Poland’s turn to display its military bases.
Matcej Volosek, spokesman for military observers group:
- This visit was very impressive. Some of us have been in Kazakhstan for the first time. We have seen a bit of your country. We all liked this event. We are happy to have visited such a place and participated in such an event.
Gilles Michel, chief, French verification centre:
- I am really impressed with what I have seen here. The level of preparation of the military is very high as well as their living conditions. I can’t see much difference between the battle readiness of Kazakhstan and French soldiers and commissioned officers. Despite being young, your country is an OSCE member and it fulfills all its liability and impresses with the rate of its development.
