Painter brushes “Shoes” for Tehran art show

TEHRAN,Dec.25(MNA) -- Painter Mojtaba Tajik, who is famous for his alternative approaches to everyday objects around him, has focused this time on footwear. He plans to put his latest collection “Shoes” on display in an exhibition at Tehran’s Asar Gallery on Friday. “Shoe goes beyond an everyday object in this collection,” curator Arezu Jafarian said in a press release on Monday. “By exploring the shoe’s aesthetic value, this collection refers to it as a symbol for people’s personality and even the social class they belong to,” she added. In 2011, Asar showcased his “Boxes”, a collection which focuses on objects that are placed beside each other accidentally. Tajik has previously held exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, Istanbul, Qatar and Dubai. The “Shoes” exhibit will run until January 21, 2013 at Asar Gallery located at 16 Barforushan St. off Iranshahr St.
